THE CORNERSTONE DIFFERENCE
Cornerstone Investment Services strives to be the cornerstone of your financial future. Founded on the idea of integrating new technology with old school relationships, and eliminating the conflicts of interest that are inherent in most modern financial advisory relationships, we are able to truly have our clients best interest in mind.
Many advisors claim to have your best interest in mind, but are compensated on a commission basis, which leads to conflicts of interest and hard to find fees and charges. Cornerstone doesn’t play that game. In fact, our legal structure makes it illegal for us to do so. When you do better, we do better.Â

OUR SERVICES
Comprehensive wealth management is a holistic approach to managing an individual's or family's finances. It's not just about investing your money but also about integrating all aspects of your financial life to achieve your goals. Here are some key components:
Financial Planning: This includes setting long-term goals, such as retirement, education, and legacy planning. It also involves creating a budget, managing cash flow, and planning for major life events.
Investment Management: This involves creating and managing a diversified investment portfolio that aligns with your risk tolerance, time horizon, and financial goals.
Tax Planning: Effective tax planning strategies can help minimize tax liabilities and maximize after-tax returns. This includes understanding tax laws and leveraging tax-advantaged accounts.
Estate Planning: This involves planning for the transfer of your assets to your heirs in the most efficient and effective way possible.
Retirement Planning: This is about ensuring you have enough savings and investments to maintain your desired lifestyle in retirement. It includes evaluating retirement accounts, social security benefits, and other income sources.
Education Planning: If you have children, this involves saving for their education expenses through plans like 529 savings plans or other investment vehicles.
Charitable Giving: If philanthropy is important to you, wealth management can help structure your charitable giving in a tax-efficient manner.
Investment management is the process of professionally handling various securities (such as stocks, bonds, and other assets) and financial instruments to meet specific investment goals for the benefit of investors. Here are the key components:
Setting Objectives: The first step involves understanding the investor's financial goals, risk tolerance, time horizon, and liquidity needs. These factors help in determining the appropriate investment strategy.
Asset Allocation: This involves deciding how to distribute the investment portfolio across different asset classes, such as equities, fixed income, real estate, commodities, and cash. The goal is to diversify the portfolio to manage risk and optimize returns.
Security Selection: Once the asset allocation is determined, the next step is to select specific securities within each asset class. This could involve choosing individual stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), or other investment vehicles.
Portfolio Construction: This is the process of building the portfolio by combining various securities in a way that aligns with the investor's objectives and risk profile. It involves balancing the mix of assets to achieve the desired risk-return trade-off.
Performance Monitoring: Investment managers regularly review and monitor the portfolio's performance to ensure it is on track to meet the investor's goals. This includes analyzing returns, assessing risk, and comparing performance against benchmarks.
Rebalancing: Over time, market movements can cause the portfolio's asset allocation to drift away from the target allocation. Rebalancing involves adjusting the portfolio by buying or selling assets to realign it with the original strategy.
Risk Management: Investment managers employ various techniques to manage and mitigate risks, such as diversification, hedging, and the use of stop-loss orders. The goal is to protect the portfolio from significant losses.
Tax Considerations: Effective investment management also involves understanding and planning for the tax implications of investment decisions. This includes strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize after-tax returns.
Reporting and Communication: Investment managers provide regular reports and updates to investors, detailing the portfolio's performance, changes made, and the rationale behind investment decisions. Clear and transparent communication is crucial for maintaining trust.
