About Cornerstone Outfitters

Cornerstone Outfitters is a small, professional fly‑fishing guide service operating as a subsidiary of Cornerstone Investment Services. The business was created to offer a structured, reliable way for clients to enjoy guided days on the water while maintaining the same standards of integrity and professionalism that define the investment firm.

All trips are guided by Hunter Smith. Hunter grew up hunting and fishing throughout the Southeast, harvesting his first deer at seven years old and purchasing his first boat at thirteen. The outdoors has been a central part of his life from an early age.

At eighteen, Hunter passed his USCG licensing and safety requirements to become a legal guide. He began guiding immediately and continued throughout high school and college while earning his master’s degree in accounting and finance. After graduation, he founded Cornerstone Investment Services and dedicated several years to building the firm, which naturally limited the amount of guiding he could take on.

Cornerstone Outfitters now allows Hunter to continue guiding on a limited basis. Trips are intentionally kept small in number to balance his responsibilities at the investment firm and to ensure that each angler receives a relaxed, personal, and high‑quality experience.

The mission is simple: provide honest instruction, share the waters Hunter grew up fishing, and offer a day outdoors that feels genuine, unhurried, and true to the sport.
